WHERE DO ROMANIANS SPEND THEIR HOLIDAYS? It is well known that tourism brings money, creates jobs and – last but not least – a positive image of the host-country. The disadvantages – for instance, the fact that the travel of the tourists might affect the environment – are usually smaller than the gains, and all countries, especially those which have sites worth visiting, try to attract as many tourists as possible, both from within and from outside the country. Recently, many Romanians have chosen to spend their holidays in Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey – where the services are good and the prices affordable -, some of them have even bought houses in the neighboring countries, especially in Hungary, but also in Bulgaria and Greece, and now seem to prefer more exotic destinations, such as Africa or Asia. Nevertheless, the beauties of our country are still a great attraction for tourists, Romanian and foreigner. The summer season this year is likely to be very good for the local hotel industry, and ANAT (The National Association of Tourist Agencies) estimates that the number of tourists will increase by 15% compared to last year, when 1,2 million Romanians and foreigners chose to spend their holidays on the Romanian littoral. B'ESTFEST 2008
The Festival B’ESTFEST 2008 will take place this year on July 4th, 5th, 6th and 11th, on the Romexpo grounds. Organized by Emag!c Entertainment, the festival will take place on the spacious grounds with, tens of thousands of people expected during the four days. The organizers added a special day to the program, dedicated to rock fans – B’ESTFEST AFTERSHOCK, on July 11th. For four days, more than 35 artists and bands from 12 countries will perform on the four stages of the festival. The budget of this edition is nearly 3.000.000 Euros ( 30% higher than last year), two thirds being allocated to the artists’ fees.
