I don’t know if you have noticed it, but walk into any neighborhood “magazin alimentar”, or a supermarket in Romania, and you will be overwhelmed by the choices of “junk food”, chips, pretzels, cookies, candy, chocolate, chewing gum, and the list goes on. In many cases, in second place is a wide range of alcoholic beverages. Romania is not alone in this phenomenon; supermarkets in the USA devote a major percentage of their shelf space to these products.
